We are pleased to announce the fifth edition of our Annual Bubbles & Bones Journal, in which we honor a different community leader each year.  Our fifth edition honoree is South Florida's own Joseph “Pepe” Badia, President of Badia Spices. Pepe’s story, beginning with his arrival from Cuba at age 14, alone.--- speaking no English -- is a classic tale of Hispanic entrepreneurship in the United States and the special role that Cubans and South Florida play in growing U.S. Hispanic success.

As the President of one of the largest and fastest growing spice companies in the United States and esteemed member of the Here’s Help Board of Directors, Pepe actively contributes to the South Florida community on both a professional and personal level. Together with his family, Pepe has given back to the community through numerous donations and personal involvement with Here’s Help, the Dan Marino Foundation, Make-A-Wish and other charities. His endless philanthropic work continues to be an inspiration to the South Florida community. It was through his tremendous generosity that Here’s Help was able to build the Badia / Publix Culinary School. This culinary program has been the MOST successful alternative therapy program to date at Here’s Help. On a day to day basis, the Badia / Publix Culinary School is changing the lives of young men by teaching them a trade to better their chances of a drug free life.
